PETALING JAYA: It was a sweet but emotional victory for national squash player Aira Azman as she defeated older sister Aifa 11-9, 11-2, 8-11, 11-3 yesterday to book her spot in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.
Facing each other for the first time in a World Tour tournament, world No. 44 Aira met her sister in the second round in Sydney after winning against Singapore’s Au Yeong Wai in the opening round, while Aifa had a first-round bye.
