‘Baby’ Aira aims to be thorn on favourites’ side in individual event


Optimistic: Debutant Aira Azman is hopeful of winning a medal in the women’s individual squash event at the Hangzhou Asian Games.

PETALING JAYA: Aira Azman is the baby of the Asian Games-bound squash team but the two-time Asian junior champion is looking forward to a podium finish in the individual event in Hangzhou.

The 18-year-old Aira was selected ahead of seniors Chan Yiwen and Noor Ainaa Amani Ampandi for the Asiad and she has also been handed a golden opportunity of playing in the individual event alongside S. Sivasangari.
