Maniam hopeful of squash girls retaining Asian junior team title


Stalwart: Malaysia will be banking on Aira Azman to put on a good show at the Asian junior team meet.

PETALING JAYA: National director of coaching Major (Rtd) S. Maniam is optimistic of seeing Malaysia retain the women’s crown while the men are also expected to battle for a place in the final of the Asian Junior Squash Team Championships in Chennai from Feb 8-12.

The Malaysian women, gunning to complete their hattrick after winning in 2017 and 2019, will be spearheaded by world No. 65 Aira Azman with Yasshmita Jadishkumar (No. 104), Whitney Isabella Wilson and Doyce Lee.
