National squash player Sivasangari discharged from hospital

PETALING JAYA: National squash player S. Sivasangari has been discharged from Hospital Putrajaya.

Squash Racquets Association of Malaysia (SRAM) director of coaching Major (Rtd) S. Maniam said Sivasangari would undergo rehabilitation at the National Sports Institute (NSI) every day.

"She will be at her parents’ house in Bukit Jalil. She will undergo recovery and rehabilitation at the NSI every day and will have follow-ups at the Putrajaya Hospital once in two weeks," said Maniam.

Sivasangari had been treated in the hospital for more than a week following a road accident on June 26, which had caused injuries to her head and spine.

Sivasangari was supposed to be the flag bearer for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham from July 28-Aug 8, but she has been replaced by Aifa Azman.
