KUALA LUMPUR: Not even a hip injury could stop national No. 1 Low Wee Wern from reaching the second round of the Windy City Open in Chicago.
The 29-year-old Penangite had a collision with Jasmine Hutton of England in the third set and landed on her right hip, resulting in some bruises. But the pain did not stop her from coming back from a set down to win 5-11, 11-8, 11-5, 6-11, 14-12 at the University Club of Chicago on Thursday.
