Wee Wern can walk tall despite bowing out in q-final

KUALA LUMPUR: National No. 1 Low Wee Wern crashed out in the Carol Weymuller Open in New York but she can still walk with her head held high.

The world No. 24 stunned world No. 7 and fifth seed Amanda Sobhy of United States 8-11,12-10,8-11,11-3,13-11 in the second round on Friday before losing 8-11,3-11,7-11 to defending champion and second seed Nour El Tayeb of Egypt in 33 minutes in the quarter-finals on Saturday. Her win against Sobhy was the highlight as it was her first win against a top-10 ranked player since she made a return in the PSA tournaments in 2017 after three knee surgeries.
