PETALING JAYA: National squash player S. Sivasangari is not in the country to celebrate Deepavali with her family but she certainly has made them proud.
The 20-year-old gave them the best possible gift during the festive period by pulling off the biggest upset in the Women’s World Championships when she took out world No. 8 Amanda Sobhy of the United States 9-11,11-9,6-11,12-10,11-6 in the opening round in Cairo, Egypt, on Thursday night.
