Nicol presses on to reach Wadi Degla semis

PETALING JAYA: Nicol David fended off a spirited challenge from Egyptian Nour El Tayeb to earn a place in semi-finals of the Wadi Degla Open in Egypt.

The 33-year-old Malaysian, who slipped by two places to No. 5 in the latest world rankings, recovered from a set down to win 6-11, 12-10, 11-8, 11-8 in 60 minutes at the Wadi Degla Club in Cairo on Tuesday.
