KUALA LUMPUR: There was no quarter asked or given when two former world champions clashed in the first round of the Naza Women’s World Squash Championship.

And in the end, it was eight-time world champion Nicol David who prevailed 11-4, 8-11, 8-11, 11-1, 11-2 in a five-set thriller against 2007 world champion Rachael Grinham at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil on Tuesday.
