PETALING JAYA: Delia Arnold ended her run of first-round defeats by reaching the second round of the US Open squash championships.
The 29-year-old had suffered three first-round losses at the China, Macau and Carol Weymuller Opens, but she rebounded superbly to beat Guyana’s Nicolette Fernandes 11-3, 11-3, 11-6 in 29 minutes in Philadelphia on Saturday.
