Nafiizwan wins NZ Open, Nicol marches on in Egypt

SINGAPORE: National No. 1 squash player Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan ended the first half of the year with a wide smile after emerging champion at the New Zealand International Open.

The 29-year-old Nafiizwan, who survived an 83-minute tussle with Kiwi Paul Coll in Saturday’s semi-finals, battled tired legs to overcome Englishman Declan James 11-8, 6-11, 11-2, 11-7 in 52 minutes at Palmerston North yesterday.
