Nicol defeats Kylie in 24min in US Open


KUALA LUMPUR: World No. 1 Nicol David got off to a solid start in defence of the US Open title as she breezed past qualifier Kylie Lindsay of New Zealand in the opening match at Drexel University in Philadelphia on Friday.

The seven-time world champion just needed 24 minutes to trounce Kylie 11-5, 11-3, 11-7 to set up a date with world No. 10 Camille Serme of France in the second round on Sunday.
