PETALING JAYA: National shooter Nur Suryani Taibi failed to reach the final in her second Olympic Games as she slumped to 34th spot in the 50m rifle three positions event.

The 38-year-old amassed 1,142 points in the event participated by 37 shooters.

Only the top eight shooters qualify for the final.

Russia's Yulia Zykova was in a blistering form in the qualification when she shot 1,182 points, which was an Olympics record.United States' Segan Maddalena was second with 1,178 points and followed by Germany's Jolyn Beer.

Both collected the same points but Maddalena took the second spot after a countback.
