It’s time to end the VAR nonsense

I HATE to say I told you so. But not as much as I hate VAR. Yet again we find ourselves scratching our heads at decisions made by an official watching on a monitor far from the stadium. Referees have been reduced to impatient spectators like the rest of us, waiting for a long time on the delivery of a verdict.

The wait is a big problem; there is no question now that the flow of the game is frequently being interrupted while a computer draws lines across the pitch, rotates camera angles, and replays incidents in slow motion.
