MELBOURNE (Reuters) -Flyhalf Quade Cooper celebrated his first test in four years by slotting a penalty after the siren to secure Australia a tense 28-26 win over South Africa in their Rugby Championship clash on the Gold Coast on Sunday.

A surprise recall in Dave Rennie's side, Cooper split the middle of the posts from 40 metres out on an angle after scrumhalf Nic White swooped with a turnover after the ball squirted out of the Springboks' scrum in a frenetic finish.
