Caution comes first for rugby community

PETALING JAYA: All rugby activities must be stopped in adherence to the Conditional Movement Control Order for Covid-19, according to the latest instruction by the Malaysian Rugby Union (MRU).

All local tournaments scheduled this year including the National 7-a-side and the Agong’s Cup have been rescheduled to take place before June next year.

MRU president Datuk Shahrul Zaman Yahya said there is a need for the rugby community to take a more disciplined approach.

“We decided to postpone all local competitions earlier to help the nation break the chain of Covid-19 cases.

“Training and the domestic rugby league had been ongoing but with the recent spike in cases in our country, we have asked all affiliates to postpone all activities until further instructions from the authorities, ” said Shahrul.
