All Black Messam to chase Olympic sevens gold

WELLINGTON (Reuters) - All Blacks loose forward Liam Messam will put his Super Rugby career on hold in a bid to win a sevens gold for New Zealand at next year's Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

Messam, who won Commonwealth Games gold in sevens for New Zealand in 2006 and 2010, has left the Waikato Chiefs to concentrate on breaking into the Olympic squad, his coach told local media.
