GLASGOW: Everyone knew that Malaysia are just making up the numbers in the Commonwealth Games rugby Sevens.

And, on Saturday, it was proven true when Wales humiliated Malaysia 52-0 in their opening Group C match at Ibrox Stadium – the house of Scottish football club Glasgow Rangers.

The Welsh scored eight tries and six conversions as they made the Malaysia players look like schoolboys.

Malaysia were no better in the second group match, despite leading Papua New Guinea 7-5 at on stage. But they still ended up being thrashed 36-7.

PNG scored six tries and three conversions as Hafiz Ahmad Anwarul scored and converted Malaysia’s lone try.

Malaysia will wrap up their group fixtures against Samoa, who defeated Papua New Guinea 33-14
