(Reuters) -Indonesia's Rizki Juniansyah set a clean and jerk world record to win gold in the 79 kg weight class at the World Weightlifting Championships in Forde, Norway, on Monday.

Juniansyah, the reigning men's 73 kg Olympic champion, lifted 204 kg with his second clean and jerk in a Herculean effort that secured gold ahead of North Korea's Ri Chong Song and Abdelrahman Younes from Egypt.

The 22-year-old snatched 157 kg for a total of 361 kg, leaving him just 1 kg short of the record on total.

"I'll leave that for next time, hopefully," said Juniansyah, whose gold added to his silver medals at the world championships in 2022 and 2024.
