Fighter Shahmalarani ends title wait as new star Thevendran emerges in SEAKF

KUALA LUMPUR: The seasoned fighters delivered while a new star was born as Malaysia outshined their rivals with a six-gold achievement at the just concluded South-east Asian Karate Federation (SEAKF) Cham-pionships in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.

Kumite exponents C. Shahmalarani and H. Sureeya Sankar received a massive boost to their Thailand SEA Games campaign in Hatyai, Thailand in December after winning the respective women’s below 50kg and men’s 60kg categories.
