PETALING JAYA: Four-time SEA Games champion R. Sharmendran has decided to forgo the Asian Karate Championship campaign next month to focus on his recovery for the Hangzhou Asian Games.
Malaysia are hosting the Asian meet for the first time in 16 years, this time in Melaka from July 21-23, while the Asian Games will be held from Sept 23-Oct 8.
