ANIQ Kasdan had thoughts of an early retirement when he was forced to lift weights alone in his home for three months when the country went through the movement control order (MCO) two years ago.

But, thankfully, he never went ahead with the plan as Malaysia would not have witnessed Aniq’s crowning moment as the first gold medallist at the Commonwealth Games yesterday.
