Lawn bowlers skip opening ceremony to get some much-needed rest


THE lawn bowlers were conspicuously missing when the opening ceremony got under way in Birmingham.

Head coach Zuraidi Puteh revealed that, after a discussion with the team’s management, it was decided that it would be better for the bowlers to rest since the ceremony would have taken four to five hours.
