PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s Thor Chuan Leong’s hopes of ending his dreadful record in the World Snooker Championship qualifiers have been boosted – thanks to a change in the competition format.

The 32-year-old has never made it past the opening hurdle in all his last five bids to earn a coveted spot at the Crucible Theatre.
