Sailors ride the wind as Khairulnizam wins

Tokyo-bound: Khairulnizam Mohd Afendy at the Asian Games in Jakarta last year. He is back in form with his win in Abu Dhabi.

PETALING JAYA: After the setbacks of the Philippines SEA Games, Khairulnizam Afendy helped Malaysian sailing ride the wind again with a well-deserved win in the Laser Standard class at the Abu Dhabi International Regatta.

The win comes fresh on the heels of the success of women’s duo of Noraisyah Jamil and Juni Karimah Noor Jamali in securing an Olympic quota slot for Malaysia at the 470 Asian Championships in China last week.
