AN explosive elbow jab to the face was all it took for teenager Rifdean Masdor to give Malaysia an unexpected gold medal in muay thai in Subic.

At just 17 years of age, the SEA Games debutant showed he will be a force to be reckoned with by knocking out his opponent Soulisay Singsavath of Laos in the men’s 45kg final at the Subic Bay Convention Center yesterday.
