CLARK: Malaysian lawn bowlers were on fire, as they rolled their way to a three-gold sweep in the SEA Games.
Seasoned campaigner Siti Zalina Ahmad led the women fours team, which comprise of Afiqah Dayana, Nur Ain Nabilah Tarmizi and Syafiqa Haidan Afif to beat the Philippines in the final.
The hosts were also frustrated in the men's triples final, as Izzat Shameer, Mohd Fairus Abdul Jabal and Mohd Syamil Syazwan wrapped up the final contest immediately for the second gold.
Malaysia's third gold of the day came from Emma Firyana Saroji-Nurul Alyani Jamil, who overcame Brunei pair Matali Amaliah-Esmawandy Brahim in the final.
Malaysia contested three finals as the lawn bowls competition schedule were brought forward as a contingency plan ahead of the expected arrival of Typhoon Kammuri.
