KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian contingent to the Philippines SEA Games will no longer be the largest sent to a Games outside of the country after the number of sports officials were cut down drastically.
Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) president Datuk Seri Norza Zakaria said Malaysia would only send a total of 1,061 (786 athletes and 275 officials), instead of 1,193 (795 athletes and 398 officials) as they had decided before.
The biggest contingent sent outside of Malaysia was 1,114 to the 2007 Games in Korat, Thailand.
