KUALA LUMPUR: Nicol David sealed a place in the quarter-finals of the China Open with a hard-fought win over qualifier Tesni Evans of Wales in the first round.
The 34-year-old Penangite, who is seeded fifth, won 11-9, 8-11, 11-2, 11-6 and will face unseeded Joelle King of New Zealand in the quarter-finals today.
