PETALING JAYA: Nicol David cut another close shave before checking into the quarter-finals of the Women’s World Squash Championship in Egypt.

Nicol, a record eight-time world champion, had to stave off a tenacious challenge from Hong Kong’s world No. 11 Annie Au before pulling off a 12-10, 11-4, 13-11 second-round win in 37 minutes in El Gouna yesterday.
