RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) - The Olympic Games have been the catalyst for a positive transformation of Rio de Janeiro, the International Olympic committee said on Monday.
With gleaming new stadiums dotting the coastline in the Barra de Tijuca neighbourhood, Rio is set to open the first Olympics on South American soil on Friday.
