(Reuters) - Javier Fernandez successfully landed two quadruple jumps in his free skate to beat Japan's defending champion Yuzuru Hanyu and become Spain's first male champion at the world figure skating championships in Shanghai on Saturday.
Russia's Elizaveta Tuktamysheva earlier added the world title to her European crown after a solid, if not spectacular, free skate gave her a comprehensive victory.
