Sailors maintain lead on Day Two


INCHEON: MALAYSIA maintained their lead in two events after the second day of the sailing competition at the Wangsan Sailing Marina.

Mohd Faizal Norizan-Syukri Abdul Aziz remained on pole position in the men’s 420 class after winning yesterday’s sole race. It was their third win in five races and the World Youth Championship silver medallists have accumulated eight points so far. 

Koizumi Ibuki-Matsuo Kotaro of Japan are second on 11 points. 

Khairulnizam Afendy, the sole leader on the first day, could only manage to finish second in the Laser Standard races yesterday. He now share the lead with favourite Ha Jee-min of South Korea on eight points.

After five races in the women’s 420, Nuraisyah Jamil-Norwahidah Sallahuddin are lying second on 10 points behind Singaporeans Kimberly Lim-Savannah Hui (seven points). 
  
Asian champion Muhd Dhiauddin Rozaini is in second place in the boys’ Optimist despite a disqualification in the sixth race. He has 13 points. Leader Park Sung-bin of South Korea has eight points.
