Incheon weather perfect for Team Malaysia

INCHEON: The weather in Incheon, South Korea, is just about right for Malaysian athletes to excel in the Asian Games.

Chef de mission Datuk Danyal Balagopal believes that the cool weather in the afternoon, around 25°C, is ideal for his charges.

“It is like the perfect weather for the athletes, especially those competing outdoors as it is not hot at all. I hope this will give them the boost to perform well in competitions,” said Danyal.

Danyal was also pleased with the facilities at the Games Village.

“So far, so good. But the true test begins when the bulk of our athletes arrive tomorrow (on Thursday). The hosts will then need more transport to get the athletes to the respective venues. Let’s hope everything will turn out all right,” said Danyal after attending a flag-raising ceremony at the Village on Wednesday.

Datuk Rohana Ramli, the Malaysian ambassador to South Korea, as well as 70 Malaysian athletes and officials from bowling, shooting, sepaktakraw, wushu and squash also attended the ceremony.
