KUALA LUMPUR: Incumbent Tan Sri Abdul Razak Latiff retained the president’s post of the Lawn Tennis Association of Malaysia (LTAM) by the slimmest of margins.
He edged KL Lawn Tennis Association president Mirzan Mahathir 23-20 votes to stay in office for the fifth term (2013-2015) .
After the win, he urged the affiliates to put their differences aside and come together for the betterment of tennis in the country.
“Yes, it was a small margin but let’s move forward with the new line-up to be more proactive to further improve tennis in Malaysia. We’re on the right track and we need to keep going,” said Abdul Razak after the biennial general meeting at the Tun Razak Tennis Complex in Jalan Duta on Saturday.
There were no major changes in the new line-up. Former exco member Mohd Khairuddin Baharom takes over from Ibrahim Abu Bakar as the honorary secretary while the latter will now take up a post as an exco member.
Besides that, exco members Hashim Imbrahim (Terengganu) and Johnson Koh Yong Siang (Sabah) have been replaced by Samsul Kamil Osman of Kedah and Mohd Faizal Ismail of Kelantan.
