KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak gymnast Esmelda Arecia Menti Alfred Geling broke the norm when she named national diver Pandelela Rinong as her sporting hero.
Asked to elaborate on her choice, the young gymnast simply said that it wasn’t because Pandelela was also a Sarawakian but that “she embodies qualities of a true athlete”.
