MALACCA: Defending boys’ and girls’ Under-18 champions Perak got off to flying starts – beating Perlis 8-1 and Kedah 3-0 respectively – on the opening day of the National Schools (MSSM) hockey championships at the Bukit Serendit Hockey Stadium.
Mohd Zulhamizan Awang Abas bagged a hat-trick for the Perak boys’ team with goals in the fifth, eighth and 69th minutes. Perak’s other goals in the thumping win over Perlis came from Mohd Ashran Hamsani (7th, 55th), S. Deavandran (22nd), Abdul Rauf Mohd Nazri (3lst) and Mohd Luokman Hakimi (51st).
