KUALA LUMPUR: Muhd Firdaus Mohd Zonis lived up to his status as the most promising talent to emerge from the ranks by romping to the men’s junior 1km time trial gold medal on the opening day of the first leg of the South-East Asian Grand Prix at the Cheras Velodrome yesterday.
Firdaus, riding for the national Pelapis squad, clocked 1:08.368 ahead of Ipoh academy squad’s Zakaria Akmal, who settled for the silver in 1:12.339.
