Arif in quarters after upset win over Hu Yun


Show stopper: Malaysia’s Mohd Arif Abdul Latif moved into the Hong Kong Open quarter-finals after defeating Hong Kong’s Hu Yun 21-17, 21-17.

KUALA LUMPUR: All eyes were on Liew Daren and Chong Wei Feng but it was Mohd Arif Abdul Latif who stole the thunder in the Hong Kong Open with a breakthrough performance yesterday.

The 23-year-old Arif pulled off a brilliant 21-17, 21-17 win over world No. 15 Hu Yun of Hong Kong to reach his first quarter-final in a Super Series after many failed attempts over the last two years.
