KUALA LUMPUR: Double champions Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLHC) sent out an early warning to their Malaysia Hockey League (MHL) rivals with a 5-0 bashing of Sapura en route to retaining the Charity Shield at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

KLHC turned on the power to score all five goals – Tengku Ahmad Tajudin (7th and 23rd minutes), Mohd Razie Abdul Rahim (16th, 18th) and Harvinder Singh (pic) (23rd) – in the first half before taking their foot off the pedal to conserve energy for today’s match against Maybank.
