LONDON (Reuters) - Spain vowed to press on with its bid for the 2020 Olympics despite an economic crisis that threatened to engulf its economy and said it was not about to follow Italy and abandon its bid.
The Madrid government is bidding for the third successive time for the Games though the economic climate could not be less favourable and the euro zone debt crisis has already claimed one victim with Rome pulling out earlier this year.
