PETALING JAYA: The intense training is all done and the national shuttlers are just going through their normal routines as they gear up for the London Olympics at their training camp in Bath.

BA of Malaysia (BAM) high performance director Datuk James Selvaraj said there was no need to put the players through tough training sessions and risk injuries.

“All the hard training was done back home. It’s more important now that the players don’t over exert themselves at this crucial point,” said James in a telephone interview.

“We still have two sessions per day, from 8am-11am and 3pm-6pm, but right now, we’re more focused on getting the players familiar to the conditions they can expect in London.

“So far everything has been going smoothly and the coaches are very happy with the progress. (Lee) Chong Wei has been showing some excellent form in training and it certainly augurs well.”

The team will leave Bath for London on July 24.
