KUALA LUMPUR: A determined Soong Joo Ven put up another gritty performance to march into the boys’ singles final of the Asian Junior Badminton Championships in Gimcheon, South Korea.
The national junior champion battled for 57 minutes to beat Sudrajat Panji Akbar of Indonesia 13-21, 21-18, 21-11 in the semi-finals to become only the fourth Malaysian player to reach the boys’ singles final of the series after Mohd Arif Abdul Latif (2007), Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin (2010) and Zulfadli Zulkifli (2011).
