KUALA LUMPUR: Kenya’s Kennedy Kiproo Lilan, fresh from winning the Maybank Bali Marathon last month, is confident of defending his Standard Chartered KL Marathon title at Dataran Merdeka tomorrow.
His rise as a marathon champion is a story of faith and courage. Lilan almost lost his life when he was young. He was attacked by a lion at age of five while looking for firewood with friends in a jungle close to his village in Mekod, south Kenya.
