Former BAM president wants to save Malaysian badminton

KUALA LUMPUR: Former BA of Malaysia (BAM) president Tan Sri Elyas Omar, fed up with the declining standard of badminton in the country, is ready to make a comeback and lead the association at the ripe old age of 76.

It was under Elyas’ tenure that Malaysia won the Thomas Cup in 1992. And the former sports commissioner, who turns 76 in November, believes he still has much to offer to the sport.
