PETALING JAYA: Australian Oliver Goss set the pace on the opening day of the MPI-Saujana Amateur Championship with a four-under 68, three shots ahead of Malaysian Amateur Open champion Gavin Kyle Green and national player Chan Tuck Soon, at Saujana Golf and Country Club yesterday.
The 18-year-old from Royal Freemantle Golf Club in Perth notched six birdies but suffered a double bogey at the uphill 446-yard par four eighth hole when his tee shot took a bad kick into a thick stand of trees.
