ABL fine Dragons owner and coach for prejudicial statements

PETALING JAYA: The Asean Basketball League (ABL) have denied allegations of biased officiating and instead slapped Westports Malaysia Dragons owner Ruben Gnanalingam and head coach Ariel Vanguardia with a fine of US$5,000 each for making prejudicial statements in public.

Vanguardia was furious after Game 1 of the semi-final playoffs against newcomers San Miguel Beermen of the Philippines last Saturday in which match officials made two controversial decisions towards the end of the match.
