AUCKLAND, New Zealand, (Reuters): China's Team Sanya, firm underdogs in the Volvo Ocean Race, led the rest of the fleet out of Auckland on Sunday at the start of a potentially boat-breaking fifth leg through the Southern Ocean and around Cape Horn.
The Sanya crew, led by a former winner Mike Sanderson but using a second-hand boat, are on a sharp learning curve in offshore racing's toughest professional test.
