Injury ends Vanessa’s dream of reaching junior squash final


GEORGE TOW: A sprained neck ended local lass Vanessa Raj’s hopes of reaching the final in the first leg of the CIMB Junior Squash Circuit at the Nicol David International Squash Centre yesterday.

The 16-year-old Saint Georges Girls School Form Four student went down to team-mate Celine Yeap, the opponent she beat to win the Penang School’s (MSSPP) title two weeks ago, 11-5, 8-11, 5-11, 11-13 in the Under-19 semi-finals.
