Scrabble-loving Brit casts spell over Singapore Open

SINGAPORE: Scrabble-loving Englishman James Morrison shrugged off a three-hour thunderstorm delay to extend his lead over a field packed with major winners at the Barclays Singapore Open yesterday.

The unheralded 26-year-old from Weybridge was standing on the 15th fairway when black clouds loomed over Sentosa Golf Club but he returned to complete a three-under round of 68, including a peach of a birdie on 18.
